ANTANETTE RAY
Hello, my name is Antanette Ray, from Troy, Missouri, with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. My debut book, The Rosy Elephant in the Field of Grey, introduces readers to Eleanor, a bright pink elephant who learns that the very thing that makes her stand out is also what makes her shine. Eleanor is especially close to my heart. This story was inspired by my own childhood experiences of standing out and learning how to embrace what made me different. Through Eleanor’s journey, I hope to remind young readers that being yourself is something truly beautiful, and that the right friends will love you for exactly who you are.

In a quiet field where everything looks the same, one little elephant
stands out most beautifully. Her name is Eleanor, and she is bright,
rosy pink. While the rest of the elephants in the field are shades of grey,
Eleanor shines with a color that makes her wonderfully different. At first,
being different makes Eleanor feels unsure of herself. She wonders why
she doesn't look like everyone else and what that might mean. Eleanor soon
discovers something important —The very thing that makes her different is
also what makes her special.
